Her name is Janice and she attended a recent talk I did for a women’s group in the SF Bay Area. She rushed up to talk to me at another event we were both at last night with exciting news! She had taken my advice from the class I taught titled “Why Cold Calling Doesn’t Work And What To Do Instead” and had amazing results. In the class we talked about the many different ways there are to market your business, one of them being email marketing.

She made sure she let her sphere of influence and past clients know she would love the opportunity to represent them in their next real estate transaction and would appreciate any referrals they could send her way. When I saw Janice last night she couldn’t believe what a positive response she received from her first email campaign.
I’m not sharing this story with you as a way to pat myself on the back, and I don’t want to come across that way at all, that’s not my point, this isn’t about me. My point is that she tried it, she gave it a go, put the effort forth and got a great result because she put herself out there. She followed through…unlike so many others who where there that same night, heard the same talk and didn’t follow through.
Try email marketing, it works when you’re emails are sincere, helpful and aren’t filled with one sales pitch after another. keep it simple, provide useful and helpful information targeted to your list.
